Join us in celebrating the diverse pathways that make up recovery. Recovery is both broadly defined and self-defined; for some, recovery means complete abstinence, while for others it means reducing risks or moderating. Following are a few ways to honor and celebrate the diverse array of journeys:
- If you are a student in recovery or are seeking recovery (from substances or other compulsive behaviors), sign up for a recovery celebration package that can either be picked up between April 13-15 or delivered on April 15 (National Collegiate Recovery Day). Only two staff members of the University will gather and respond to these requests; information will not be used in any other way and will be permanently deleted once the request is fulfilled.
- Sign up for recovery ally training, and share the opportunity with at least one other person: Thursday, April 14, 9–11 a.m. or Friday, May 13, 9–11 a.m. (trainings are held on Zoom). To sign up, email jllaurs@IllinoisState.edu.
- Talk about Recovery for Redbirds and other resources for students in recovery or for students concerned with their substance use habits/other compulsive behavior with at least one other person today.
If you know a student or faculty/staff member who is in recovery, send them a note of support and encouragement.
