As Move-In 2022 is underway, students are eagerly preparing to begin their journey as Redbirds.
Students from all over have been arriving on their previously self-selected Move-In dates and times and are getting ready for a formative year at Illinois State University. With approximately 300 Curb Birds and volunteers assisting Move-In, they have made the Move-In experience quite memorable for students and families with their care, aid, and support.
To get a better understanding of Move-In this year, University Housing Services (UHS) had the opportunity to speak with several excited students and families about their Move-In experiences. Seth Berkshire, a freshman music major, will be living in Manchester Hall on the Music Themed Living-Learning Community. University Housing Services Themed Living-Learning Communities (TTLCs) are a great way for students to meet like-minded individuals while providing a uniquely supportive environment. “I’m excited to be living in a themed living-learning community and am thrilled for the school year to begin,” said Berkshire.
After Wednesday, August 17, University Housing Services will be more than 50 percent occupied. UHS is expecting a total of approximately 6,000 Redbirds to flock to the residence halls.
Freshman Gracie Cittadino will be living in Watterson Towers this school year and is eager to begin her studies in risk management and insurance. When asked what she’s most excited for this year, she replied, “I can’t wait to meet my fellow students and make lasting connections.”
Wyatt Loghry will be living in Manchester Hall on the Rainbow Floor TTLC. Majoring in theatre education, Loghry said, “I’m most excited to begin classes and start gaining hands-on teaching experience in the classroom.”
Move-In 2022 will end on Sunday, August 21. For more information on Move-In week, visit Housing.IllinoisState.edu.
