Illinois State University’s Alumni Association understands that the core values of the University do not go unrecognized after graduation. To align with the value of civic engagement, the association is launching a new monthly series, #ISUAdvocate, sharing advocacy best practices, civic engagement happenings on campus, important news from experts on campus, and how alumni can stay involved while having a voice for their alma mater. This month, the Center for Civic Engagement shares ways the campus is encouraged to vote with some important information for all Redbirds.
Engagement with our communities is how we hold space for creating change. Illinois State’s Alumni Association believes in just that—to create the world we want to see, the Alumni Association centers Redbird community work, joy, advocacy, successes, and growth opportunities in all we do. From our Redbird Table Talk events where we unpack a different topic Redbirds are passionate about to community service opportunities in many Redbird’s communities, and ongoing socials to build the relationships necessary to do our work together, everything that the Alumni Association does is through the lens of making a better, more joyful world for Redbirds past, present, and future. Illinois State shows us how connected our identities and advocacy work are. When one Redbird is successful, our community celebrates and when one Redbird needs our support, our community is ready to be there with them.
There are many ways to get involved with Illinois State University. The Alumni Association encourages Redbird alumni to share their Illinois State stories, brag about their time at Illinois State, stay connected with ISU, visit the campus, and volunteer.
