Due to forecasted extreme weather conditions anticipated to begin in the morning, Illinois State University will close tomorrow, Thursday, December 22 beginning at 6 a.m. through the start of the winter break on Friday, December 23.
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, only weather essential personnel should report to work. All other employees, with shifts that begin after 6 a.m. on Thursday and regardless of current work location (on-campus or remote), are not required to work during this weather closure. Individuals with work shifts that begin prior to the closure time should report to work as scheduled. All non-essential employees will be released when the closure begins. Consistent with University guidelines on severe weather closure, employees who are scheduled, in advance of the closure, to use payable time (e.g., vacation, sick or compensatory) should continue to report that previously approved benefit time.
The campus will be closed as planned for winter closure beginning December 23 through January 2. Offices will reopen January 3, 2023. Classes for Spring 2023 begin January 17, 2023.
