Applications are open for the Anne M. Semlak Memorial Scholarship and the Luellen Laurenti Memorial Scholarship. Applications must be received by 4 p.m. Friday, February 10. Anne M. Semlak Memorial Scholarship
In remembrance of Anne, her family has established this scholarship to assist undergraduate and graduate students active in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Each candidate for an award must:
- Be enrolled and in good standing at Illinois State University as either an undergraduate or graduate student;
- Have completed an average of 45 semester hours and be active in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program;
- Demonstrate financial need.

Luellen Laurenti Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded annually each spring at the WGSS Student Research Symposium and provides support for an outstanding undergraduate Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor.
Each candidate for an award must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in good standing at Illinois State University;
- Have declared or are in the process of declaring a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies;
- Have completed or are enrolled in at least one course in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program;
- Be in their sophomore or junior year;
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher based on a 4.0 system at the time of the application.
