Registered student organizations (RSOs) affiliated with the Multicultural Center will host 2023 cultural graduation recognition events that honor the University’s Latino/a/x, LGBTQIA+, and Middle Eastern, Asian, and Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian graduates, their families, and communities. 

Participation in these ceremonies is completely voluntary and does not take the place of University Commencement. Any graduating student is welcome to participate in these events. Students can sign up for graduation recognition events on the Multicultural Center website

Lavender Graduation honors LGBTQIA+ lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and ace-identified graduates at Illinois State. This event will be at 4 p.m. April 22, in the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center.  

Nuestros Logros honors Latino/a/x graduates at Illinois State. This event will be at 2 p.m. April 29, in the Capen Auditorium in Edwards Hall.  

MAPS honors Middle Eastern, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian graduates at Illinois State. This event will be at 2 p.m. May 6, in the Multicultural Center.  

The Umoja Community Forum is hosting its annual celebration for Illinois State University students of African descent and from the African diaspora. Umoja: Black Graduation Celebration at Illinois State University will be Thursday, May 11, 2023. Registration is open until March 10. Register for Umoja here
