The 2022 IRS Forms 1042-S were released on February 24, 2023. Form 1042-S reports income and tax activity for tax nonresidents and foreign vendors. Generally, the activity reported includes:
- Employment, scholarship, or vendor payments are exempt from tax withholding due to a treaty benefit
- Scholarship, vendor, or award payments are subject to tax withholding.
If a person has consented to an electronic receipt, the form is available in the Sprintax Calculus profile in the 2022 module under Tax Forms. The form will be mailed to the address on file for those who did not consent to electronic receipt.
