WGLT and its co-sponsors will host an open house with breakout sessions by race as early voting continues and Election Day nears.
The event is scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Illinois State University’s Bone Student Center in the Brown Ballroom.
Twenty-five candidates are confirmed to attend, and breakout sessions will include:
6-6:30 p.m. – Heartland Community College & District 87 school board candidates
6:30-7 p.m. – Bloomington City Council candidates
7-7:30 p.m. – Unit 5 school board candidates
7:30-8 p.m. – Normal Town Council candidates
Voters are encouraged to meet the candidates one-on-one during the open house and/or attend breakout sessions for the races they’re most interested in.
The debate is co-sponsored by WGLT, part of the NPR Network, ISU’s Center for Civic Engagement, the Bloomington-Normal branch of the NAACP, and the League of Women Voters of McLean County.
