On November 16, Lisa Hood and Pam Rosa will be presenting a session called Maximizing the Danielson Framework for Teaching in Early Childhood Teacher Evaluations (PreK-3rd Grade): Using the Results of the Danielson Framework for Teaching Validation Study to Improve Teacher Evaluation Practice at the Annual Conference hosted by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in Atlanta, Georgia.
This session will focus on how to implement and support a valid, reliable, and learning-focused evaluation process in the early childhood grades (PreK-3rd Grade) using the 2013 Charlotte Danielson’s Framework evaluation tool. This session will empower teachers to be active participants in their evaluations, and grow leaders’ evaluation and collaboration skills. Participants will learn about the findings of an applied research study to validate the Danielson Framework and how the Framework can be used in a developmentally appropriate manner in the PreK-3rd classroom to use evaluation as a lever for teachers’ professional growth. Both teachers and leaders will deepen their knowledge of the Planning, Teaching, Observation, and Reflection teacher evaluation process and leave with a toolkit to strengthen their next evaluation experience.
