Director of Principal Leadership at Bloomington Public Schools and Illinois State University Assistant Professor Mary Kay Scharf, Ph.D., presented Preparing Principals: The Illinois Story on November 1, 2017, at the Utah Legislature’s Education Interim Committee meeting. Scharf shared thoughts and findings from IL-PART on the a high standard of practice for pre-service principals in training, however less emphasis is placed on the ongoing development of practicing principals. Further discussion involved next steps for Illinois and how Utah can apply the findings in their own state.
