The Illinois State University School of Theatre and Dance will present the Fall Dance Concert, opening November 30. Performances run through December and are in the Center for Performing Arts Theatre.

The production features performances by members of Illinois State University Dance Theatre and showcases choreography created by dance faculty Greg Merriman, Kaley Pruitt-Ozminkowski, Sara Semonis, and Darby Wilde. The concert will also feature the work of Chicago-based choreographer Joshua Blake Carter. Carter is a former dancer with Giordano Dance Chicago, and the current artistic director of Giordano II and operations manager for the main company.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to see several different styles of dance and to experience the sheer power, athleticism, and artistry the performers bring to the stage,” Artistic Director Sara Semonis said. “This production showcases everything from contemporary dance to classical ballet, with some amazing performances from our talented company members. We end the evening with a powerful work by Joshua Blake Carter that demonstrates the high level of technical skill and artistry of the company.”

Performances of the Fall Dance Concert are November 30 through December 2 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on December 2 at 2 p.m. All performances take place at the Center for Performing Arts Theatre.
