Bich Tran, who recently completed a graduate degree in the Department of Politics and Government, and Derek Ruszkowski, an Applied Community and Economic Development graduate student in sociology, secured a Young Wonders Kitchen Remodel Grant from the Lowe’s Corporation for over $15,000.
This grant will benefit the YWCA of McLean County. While working with the YWCA of McLean County as part of their course requirements in POL 477 (Community Project Design and Management), they identified and applied for the grant in collaboration with YWCA staff. POL 477 is a required course in the Applied Community and Economic Development sequence and was taught by Professor Nancy S. Lind in Spring Semester 2018.
