Several years ago, the College began a new tradition of starting the year by inviting all junior business majors to attend and participate in a series of activities designed to help them focus on strategies for success. The tradition of the “Junior Year Prep Day” will continue this year in an effort to help students understand the resources available to them as they continue their journey towards completing a degree in business and prepare for future professional employment opportunities.
All College of Business juniors are encouraged to participate in Junior Year Prep.
“Junior Year Prep is a program designed to remind students of how pivotal the junior year is in their college experience. The junior year is typically a time where students secure internships and take advantage of study abroad opportunities,” Assistant to the Dean for Student Services Ashely Hicks said. “Participating in Junior Year Prep is essential in making students aware of the opportunities, timelines, and impact these co-curricular experiences can have on their college career and beyond. We want to make sure students are taking advantage of these experiences and know what’s available to them to ensure they are competitive candidates once they graduate from Illinois State University.”
On Friday, August 24 from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., all College of Business juniors are encouraged to participate in a series of activities that will take place in the State Farm Hall of Business. Several door prizes drawings will be held as well as free ice cream in the lower level atrium following the event. During this time, you will be able to meet College of Business faculty, learn more about your major, interact with advisors, Career Center staff, and student organization members.
