Peace Corps is a life-changing, career-launching opportunity for Illinois State students.
“Being in the Peace Corps will help my career by showing employers that I can succeed without many resources, adapt to new environments, show commitment, and overcome challenges all with independence and confidence,” notes Brad Christin ’18, who is about to depart for Paraguay.
Christin was among the first Redbirds to complete the Peace Corps Prep program, which helps students develop and document core competencies valued by Peace Corps and other employers.
Peace Corps
Through Peace Corps, motivated changemakers can become part of a community abroad and work alongside local leaders on pressing development issues. Seniors hoping to start a position after graduation should apply now, before the October 1 deadline!

Peace Corps Prep
The Stevenson Center offers Peace Corps Prep to help students gain and demonstrate skills for their careers. Upon completion, students receive a certificate from Peace Corps. The program is open to all majors. To start this semester, you must apply by September 10. Contact the Stevenson Center at 309-438-8685 or PCPrep@IllinoisState.edu with any questions. The Stevenson Center has graduate programs for returned Peace Corps Volunteers as well.
