Honors
Susan Hildebrandt, LAN, was honored for her co-authored article “Communicative learning outcomes and world language edTPA: Characteristics of high-scoring portfolios” published in Hispania of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The article earned an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Scholarly Publication in the category of Linguistics and Language Science/Pedagogy by the journal. The authors received their award at the AATSP banquet in Salamanca, Spain, in July.

Kendra Paitz, University Galleries, authored “The ‘Perfect Memory’ of Water” by the Des Moines Art Center in conjunction with the premiere of Jen Bervin’s River. River is a hand-sewn silver sequin sculpture that is a one-inch-to-one-mile scale map of the Mississippi River.
