On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 the Birth-to-Third Grade (B-3) Continuity Project hosted 130 Preschool Expansion and Preschool For All Expansion (PFAE) programs for a B-3 Continuity Community of Practice networking event. The event was held at the Radisson Hotel in Normal. The event was targeted to preschool administrators and program’s family support specialists to attend together.
The event included insights of birth-to-third grade alignment strategies, provided expansion updates, and included an opportunity to network with others across the state working on a birth-to-third grade continuum. Participants heard finding from the recent report, Birth-to-Third Grade Continuity Project: Looking Back Moving Forward, Reflecting on the First Four Years.
Materials from the event are now posted to the B-3 Continuity Community of Practice event page. Participants were also encouraged to watch The Center: Resources for Teaching and Learning website for upcoming training (including the March 13, 2019 session on The Road from Enrollment to Attendance) and join their online workbench community to connect with others and access other resources. The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) also recently updated its Families and Schools Success website with new family engagement materials.
Make sure to register for the 2019 B-3 Continuity Conference on June 12-13, 2019. Registration is now open. Additional information about the keynote, agenda, and exciting news about an administrators academy can be found on the conference website.
