Governor JB Pritzker’s office announced the appointment of new board members to the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University, Kathy Bohn and Robert Navarro.
“I’d like to extend my welcome to Kathy Bohn and Robert Navarro as newly appointed trustees,” said President Larry Dietz. “They are both dedicated members of the Redbird family and I look forward to working with them to advance the University’s mission.”
Kathy Bohn is a physician and partner at the Vein Specialists in Bloomington. She earned a bachelor’s in biological sciences education from Illinois State in 1974, and a master’s degree in 1980, before completing her residency in family medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Bohn worked as an emergency department physician for 24 years and served on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Family Violence Council. She served as a member of the Illinois State University Alumni Association Board of Directors, and served as the president of the Southern Illinois School of Medicine Board of Governors Alumni Association.
Robert Navarro is the president and CEO of Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is a founding member of Illinois State University’s Latino Alumni Network and a former chairman of the Illinois Council of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. Navarro earned his doctorate in education administration and foundations in 2002 from Illinois State University, where he served as an assistant director of housing. He previously served as director of housing services at U.S Equities Reality, where he worked to open the 18-story University Center that houses students from Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, and Roosevelt University in the Chicago loop.
Governor Pritzker reappointed Trustees Rocky Donahue and Mary Ann Louderback to the Board. “A welcome back goes to Rocky Donahue and Mary Ann Louderback, upon their reappointment to the Board,” said Dietz. “I also appreciate the continued work of Trustees Julie Jones, Sharon Rossmark, Bob Dobski, and Student Trustee Sarah Aguilar. With the Governor’s office announcing changes in the Board membership, my thanks and appreciation also go out to John Rauschenberger and Bob Churney for their dedicated service as trustees.”
