Redbirds make an impact every day, but we’re celebrating it throughout June during #RedbirdImpact Month as we recognize that even after graduation, Redbirds still live by Illinois State’s core values.
Members of our Alumni Association’s Redbird Engagement and Development (RED) Committee have been finding ways to be civically engaged and practice social distancing (as you can see above with RED member Scott Preston ’10 and his wife, Ali (Seys) ’15, M.S. ’18) from making wellness calls to fellow Redbirds, crafting cards, sewing masks, and finding learning opportunities from home.
“Last year our on-campus event saw firsthand the impact Redbirds can make together and leave on a community,” said Stephanie Duquenne, director for Alumni Engagement. “Although we cannot take part as a group on campus to make the same impact, it does not mean we cannot make a difference together as Redbirds. When Redbirds give their time back, they are showing their communities that even after graduation, Illinois State’s value holds a place in their lives.”
Although we may not be gathering together, we can show the world how Redbirds make an impact. Need a few ideas to get started?
