Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a play adapted by Christopher Hampton from a 1782 novel by Pierre Choderlose de Laclos, will open at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, in the Center for the Performing Arts.
Additional performances include 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14. Tickets are $17 for adults and Illinois State faculty/staff, and $12 for students and senior citizens age 60 and up and are available for purchase at the Center for the Performing Arts Ticket Office.
The novel on which the play is based was one of the most controversial novels in European history. The play is an erotic tale of deceit, betrayal, cruelty and seduction in high society. It is recommended for mature audiences.
