The Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra will perform in concert on Thursday, March 24, at 8 p.m. in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for faculty and staff and $6 for students and seniors.

The Symphony Orchestra will perform the world premiere of Rite: Apotheosis by Illinois State School of Music Assistant Professor Carl Schimmel. Other works will include Una voce poco fa from Rossini’s il Barbiere di Seviglia, featuring soprano Hyejin Park; Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1, with violin soloist Annelise Wiering; and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade.

The Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra is conducted by School of Music Professor Glenn Block.
