Doris Houston, Office of the President, and Christa Platt, Multicultural Center, have been named YWCA Women of Distinction for 2020. Both are honored for their careers supporting racial equality and social justice.

Ali Riaz and graduate student Md Sohel Rana presented “How Democracy Backslides: Tracing the Pathway in Six Countries.” Kam Shapiro presented “Destabilizing Racial Differences in the Detective Fiction of Chester Himes.” T.Y. Wang, presented “COVID-19 and the Anatomy of Rally Effect: The Case of Taiwan.”

Allison Harris and Alex Plumadore, PHY, presented at the 2020 Gaseous Electronics Conference. Plumadore presented “Projectile Transverse Momentum Controls Emission in Electron Vortex Ionization Collisions” and Harris presented “Ionization of Two-Electron Targets by Electron Vortex Beam.”
