On Wednesday, April 21, at noon (CDT) the Illinois State University International Seminar Series will focus on “Community Response, COVID-19 Times,” presented by Dr. Carla Pohl of the Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN). This free online webinar is open to the public with advance registration.
Pohl is an associate professor in the Mennonite College of Nursing, where she teaches across the undergraduate and graduate programs and conducts research with childbearing women and on the impact of innovative clinical models for undergraduate instruction. She is a certified nurse midwife and president of the McLean County Board of Health.
Pohl is a graduate of the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky, where she earned both her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Certificate of Nurse Midwifery. She earned an M.S. in nursing from Arizona State University and a B.S. in nursing at California State University.
Pohl’s talk will focus on COVID-19 and nursing in McLean County. The Spring 2021 International Seminar Series, COVID 19: International Perspectives, is a collaboration between the Illinois State University Office of International Studies and Programs (OISP) and Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN). Series coordinators are MCN Dean Dr. Judy Neubrander and Dr. Susana Calderon. The series continues with events each Wednesday at noon through May 5.
