The Illinois State University Fall 2021 International Seminar Series, A New Normal in a Global Context, will be each Wednesday from September 1 through November 3, 2021.
Seminars will address the current state of U.S. foreign policy, the world economy, and public health. Faculty coordinator for the series Dr. T.Y. Wang said, “As the world works to recover from the effects of COVID-19, prominent scholars are invited to examine issues that are significant in this ‘new normal.’”
Most events will be held via webinar. Two events on September 8 and October 6 will be held in-person at the Bone Student Center with a simultaneous live stream.
The September 8 event will feature Dr. George Hall of Brandeis University presenting “Paying for Three World Wars: The First, the Second, and COVID-19” at noon in the Prairie Rooms of the Bone Student Center.
The October 6 event will be 7-9 p.m. as a joint offering with the Hibbert R. Roberts Lecture Series, featuring Dr. Cara Wong of the University of Illinois presenting “National Identity and Racism in an Era of COVID-19: The Case of Asians and Asian Americans.”
