The Department of Economics and the registered student organization Undergraduate Women in Economics (UWE) will co-sponsor a panel discussion titled Build your future: how to get the most out of your degree on April 1 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Room 401, Stevenson Hall that will help students explore how to succeed in a variety of professions. This free event is open to all students and faculty.
The panel will be moderated by Debbie Ugson-Walbert, ISU Career Services, and will feature three alumni: Dominic Colletti ’12, Director, Polaris Wealth Advisory Group; Missy Demarco ’18, staff attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit; and Teodor Pintea ’11, M.S. ’13, M & A Tax Senior Associate, KPMG US.
“I hope people will join us to learn about the career paths of our accomplished alumni and appreciate the versatility of an economics degree in a wide range of careers,” said Dr. Susan Chen, Professor of Economics, who serves as UWE advisor. Sharing their post-graduation experiences, the panelists will help people appreciate that a degree in economics will not only equip one with skills to perform higher paying jobs but will also teach people how to be more informed and engaged citizens of the world. The panelists will also share with participants entry-level internships and employment opportunities at their firms.
