Graduation recognition events honor the journeys, accomplishments, and successes of students at Illinois State University. They are separate from the traditional commencement ceremonies and Redbird Stage Crossing events. To participate in the recognition events, see the registration links below.
Multicultural Center
Registered student organizations (RSOs) affiliated with the Multicultural Center will host 2022 cultural graduation recognition events that honor the University’s Latino/a/x, Asian, and LGBTQIA+ students, their families, and communities.
Lavender Graduation honors LGBTQIA+ lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and ace-identified graduates at Illinois State. Registration is available here. This event will be at 5 p.m. April 23, in the Multicultural Center.
Nuestros Logros honors Latino/a/x graduates at Illinois State. Registration is available here. This event will be at 11 a.m. April 30, in the parking lot of the Multicultural Center. The rain location will be in the Multicultural Center.
MAPS honors Middle Eastern, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian graduates at Illinois State. Registration is available here. This event will be at 2 p.m. May 1, in the Multicultural Center.

Umoja: Celebration of Black Graduates
The Umoja Steering Committee is hosting its annual celebration at Illinois State University. Umoja: Celebration of Black Graduates will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in Hancock Stadium. Students can sign up to be part of the celebration beginning March 31. Registration will be available at the Umoja website.
