Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees approved tuition, fees, and room and board rates for new freshman and transfer students for the 2015-16 academic year, with an overall increase of just 1.6 percent.
New undergraduate, full-time students from Illinois will pay $359.47 per credit hour in tuition for the 2015-16 academic year. That rate is $10.47 or 3 percent more, than was charged last year. New students will continue to pay this rate through summer of 2019. Over a four-year academic period, this equates to an annual increase of .74 percent.
New out-of-state, full-time undergraduate students will pay $620 per credit hour for the 2015-16 academic year. That rate is an $18 increase per credit hour from the 2014-15 academic year. The rate will continue through the summer of 2019.
New in-state graduate students will pay $374 per credit hour for the 2015-16 academic year. This rate is $14 more than semester credit-hour rates for 2014-15. New out-of-state graduate students will pay $777 per credit hour for the 2015-16 academic year. This represents a $30 increase over 2014-15 rates.
Illinois State includes its mandatory fees in the four-year guarantee, assuring students and parents that fee rates will not change from year to year. The mandatory fees for the 2015-16 academic year for full-time, new students will be $79.46, an increase of $.80, per credit hour from last year. The increase will be used for operational costs, to provide for debt service and to meet repair and replacement reserve requirements.
Residential Hall and dining rates will remain the same with no increase for the 2015-16 academic year. Residence hall rates depend on the type of room (multiple occupancy, single or super single), with rates for the 2015-16 academic year. Students will pay $5,282 for a multiple occupancy room, $7,130 for a multiple occupancy room in a suite, $7,024 for a single room, $8,080 for a super single, $8,186 for a single in a suite and $9,030 for a super single in a suite.
A residential dining plan that includes seven days of unlimited meals will cost $4,472, or five days of unlimited meals will cost $4,134. A traditional plan of 19 meals will cost $4,688, or 14 meals will cost $4,316. A 225 Block plan will cost $4,102 and will include 225 meals per semester, with meals expiring at the end of each semester.
