Illinois State University’s Jason Ingram will speak about police use of force at a talk sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, in the Normal Public Library’s Community Room.

The talk, titled “Police Use of Force: Myths and Policy Considerations” will highlight the implications surrounding misperceptions that should be considered in order to move discussions forward.

Ingram is an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences at Illinois State. His research examines police officer attitudes and behaviors, police organizations, departmental policies, and multilevel theory and methods. Ingram earned his Ph.D. from the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University in 2010.
