This semester, the students who follow the College of Business’ Facebook page may have noticed a new weekly video feature titled “What to do, What to do.” This video feature is brought to you each week by Alex Larson and Erin Myatt, marketing interns and Business Week coordinators for the College of Business.
The “What to do” feature is a great way to find out what interesting things might be going on each week on campus, within the community, or in the surrounding areas.
“‘What to do’ is a new social media piece for the College of Business that Erin and I have had the pleasure of taking the lead on,” Larson said. “Essentially, we are trying to promote fun things to do in the Bloomington-Normal area that college students may not have been aware of. In order to make things happen, we call up local businesses and ask them if we can take part in their fun activity in exchange for free advertising. It’s great because we get to do all these fun things for free, and all we have to do is make a video!”’
This feature spotlighted several fun activities in recent weeks that are pretty popular in the area, such as visiting Ovation Cinema, spending the day at Rader Farms, or getting spooked on the Town of Normal’s Haunted Trail. There are many things going on in the area that students may not be aware of.
“Doing the ‘What To Do, What To Do’ post every week has been a great opportunity for myself and Alex this semester,” Myatt said. “Not only has it been a great way to get involved in the College of Business, but it has been exciting to find out about all of the things that are available to do around the Bloomington-Normal area. A lot of students, including myself, are looking for fun and new things to do on the weekends so this is a great way for students to learn about what there is to do!”
This feature is surely not to be missed! Tune in each week to find out new and exciting things to explore when you are wondering “What to do” for the weekend!
