Traveling to and from Illinois State men’s basketball home games is easier than ever for Illinois State students this season thanks to a new, free student shuttle bus service called Reggie’s Redline.

“I could not be more excited and appreciative to begin the Reggie’s Redline bus shuttle for our home games,” head coach Dan Muller said. “To give the students a safe and warm way to get to and from the arena in the cold winter months is great. Our student section is the most critical part of a great home-court advantage, and we want to fill it for all home games.

“Thank you to our athletics director, Larry Lyons, and to (Student Government Association Student Body President) Ryan Powers and SGA for making this a priority,” Muller said. “We will be a very exciting team to watch, and this only adds to the possibilities of an electric atmosphere at Redbird Arena.”

In partnership with the ISU Student Government Association (SGA), Redbird Athletics is rolling out the free shuttle to transport students from four locations on or near campus to and from Redbird men’s basketball games in 2015–16.

The pickup locations include:

  • Watterson Towers
  • Hewett and Manchester halls
  • Parking lot G-86 on the corner of Willow Street and School Street
  • Cardinal Court university apartments

Students who do not live at these specific locations can still get on the bus at those four stops. The yellow school buses with Reggie’s Redline signage will start running one hour prior to each game and will also transport students back to the designated pickup locations after the game. Students will arrive at Redbird Arena, at the south entrance on College Avenue. They may also board the bus there following the game.

“I am very excited about the new bus system bringing students to Redbird Arena,” Powers said. “This is a great way to get more students engaged in ISU Athletics and elevate school spirit. I would not be surprised if this turns into an ISU tradition.”

The Reggie’s Redline shuttle service will operate for all 11 home games in which students are on campus, including the exhibition game Sunday, November 8. The complete shuttle schedule is listed below.

Students with a Red Alert pass receive free admission to all regular-season home men’s basketball games, and single-game tickets for those without Red Alert passes are just $5. Tickets can be purchased on GoRedbirds.com/Tickets, by calling (309) 430-8000 or by visiting the Redbird Arena ticket office.
