The Bone Student Center, Dean of Students Office, and University Housing Services have collaborated to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 14–20. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to pay it forward with acts of kindness and care.
Activities have been tentatively scheduled in the Bone Student Center throughout the week to inspire students to participate in random acts of kindness. These activities may include a door-holding campaign, promoting positive body image, and a station set up for students to write down ideas to make a difference in someone’s day. University Housing Services will also have small programs and tables set up in the residence halls throughout the week.
“Our goal is to make small and random acts of kindness a trend on campus that are not just limited to one week,” said Brett Heller, a graduate assistant for Leadership and Community Connections.
Students will also be asked to share on social media what they have done to encourage random acts of kindness during the week using #RedbirdsCare and #RAKweekISU.
