@Midwest Social Media Conference revealed Rob Kass, vice president of digital audio at Nielsen, and Joseph Mazer, director of the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities’ Social Media Listening Center at Clemson University, will be the keynote speakers on April 8. They join Chris Moloney, CEO of Gremln, who will be the opening keynote speaker on April 7.
Kass serves as vice president, digital audio at Nielsen out of New York. In this role, Kass is responsible for the strategic vision and product execution of Nielsen’s Digital Audio Measurement service. A Nielsen veteran with strong radio roots, Kass plays a lead role in setting the strategy and direction for digital audio clients. Previously, Kass was director, commercial strategy for Nielsen’s media analytics business. Kass will close out the conference with his keynote on Friday afternoon.
Mazer is an associate professor and associate chair of the Department of Communication Studies at Clemson University, where he is also director of the Social Media Listening Center. Dr. Mazer is listed among the top 1 percent of prolific scholars in the discipline of communication studies spanning 2007-2011, according to a study published in the October 2012 issue of Communication Education. Mazer will open Friday sessions with his keynote titled, “Social Media Analytics: How to Drive Chatter and Listen in on Social Conversations.”
The fifth @Midwest Social Media Conference is April 7-8 at Illinois State University. Sponsored by the Illinois State University School of Communication, @Midwest is a two-day social media event where experts address business professionals seeking to build a presence in social media or looking to enhance their current practices.
