Composer Stephen Hartke
Music by contemporary composers will be featured during Illinois State University’s 2016 RED NOTE New Music Festival, April 3-7. This year’s festival will feature guest composer Stephen Hartke, a Grammy-winner and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist. Guest artists will be ensemble mise-en and the Momenta Quartet.

The festival’s opening concert by the Illinois State University Wind Symphony will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets for the performance are $10 for adult general admission, $8 for faculty/staff and $6 for students and seniors. The concert will feature contemporary orchestral music by Cassie Wieland, Sean Hack, Ingrid Stölzel, and festival guest composer Stephen Hartke.
Other Red Note New Music Festival concerts will take place in the University’s Kemp Recital Hall. Admission to those performances is free.
