Acting Dean of Students John Davenport is excited to start his fall semester in a different role at Illinois State.
Davenport served as an associate dean of students for several years in the Dean of Students Office before beginning his new role in the spring semester of last academic year.
“One of the perks of my new role is being invited to more events related to the University,” Davenport said. “I love getting to experience all the different events that Illinois State has to offer.”
He also really enjoys working with students and helping them find the things they will enjoy throughout college and beyond. Davenport continues to advise the Student Government Association, among his other responsibilities.
In addition to Davenport, each weekday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., one of the associate deans is available to any student to discuss concerns or any questions about their time at Illinois State through the Dean on Duty program. Whether it is an academic or medical issue, personal concern, or questions about University policies, the Dean on Duty can provide assistance and guidance.
