Incoming student leaders at Illinois State University kicked off their semester a little early August 15–17 at Camp LEAD, coordinated by the Leadership and Community Connections office.
This event focused on new Illinois State students who were interested in getting involved on campus and expanding their leadership skills.
Each year, Camp LEAD offers new students the opportunity to meet fellow student leaders, learn about involvement opportunities, discover their personal leadership style, advance their leadership skills, and make new friends. This year, Camp LEAD students participated in ice breakers, leadership training exercises, and a ropes course.
Andrew Jacobs, a junior Camp LEAD facilitator, enjoyed the service and teamwork aspect of the program.
“I loved seeing the students going from strangers to developing genuine friendships that will last throughout their years at Illinois State,” Jacobs said.
