A book launch for Tim Hunt’s new work, Poem’s Poems & Other Poems will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 29, at the Normal Public Library. Hunt will read from his book of poetry as part of the Re:Verse Reading Series. Books will be for sale, and Hunt will be signing copies following the reading.
The event is free and open to the public. The book launch is sponsored by the Illinois State University Publications Unit.
Hunt is a professor of English at Illinois State. His publications include the books Fault Lines; The Tao of Twang; and Poem’s Poems & Other Poems, and chapbooks Redneck Yoga, White Levis, and Thirteen Ways of Talking to a Blackbird. Hunt’s work has appeared in such journals as CutBank, Epoch, Quarterly West, and Rhino.
Nominated three times for the Pushcart Prize, Hunt won the Chester H. Jones National Prize for Poetry. His scholarly publications include The Textuality of Soulwork: Jack Kerouac’s Search for Spontaneous Prose, Kerouac’s Crooked Road: Development of a Fiction; and the five-volume edition The Collected Poetry of Robinson Jeffers.
