Illinois State University jazz ensembles will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, September 30, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for faculty/staff, and $6 for students and seniors.
Illinois State’s Jazz Ensemble II, ISU Supersax (five saxophones, one trumpet and rhythm section) and ISU Superbones (five trombones and rhythm section) will perform arrangements and compositions by Charlie Parker, Med Flory, Mark Taylor, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Stanley Turrentine.
The ensembles are conducted by Tom Marko, associate professor of jazz studies in the School of Music.
