OneNote: Introduction

Transform how you take and share notes with Microsoft OneNote. Unlike a word processor, OneNote allows you to easily include images, videos, and audio clips anywhere on the page. Organize information into virtual notebooks that can be shared across all your devices and with others. This workshop shows you the basics features of OneNote, how to navigate the interface, and how to synchronize OneNote across mobile devices. Registration is required.

A continuation of the Photoshop experience. This week, look at how to make harder selections using Photoshop’s more advanced selection tools. Registration is required.
Design and Implement a Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program
Tuesday, October 25 • 1–4 p.m.
Use the world as your classroom! This workshop, facilitated by the Office of International Students and Programs, will provide an overview of the study abroad process and its foundational concepts. You will learn about the responsibilities associated with being a faculty director and learn how to develop your own study abroad program. Participants will become familiar with instructional methods and assessment techniques specific to facilitating learning abroad. Registration is required.
Introduction to ReggieNet – Part 2
Wednesday, October 26 • 9 a.m. to noon
Learn to create a variety of learning activities using built-in tools such as Forums, Tests & Quizzes, and Assignments. Forums can promote student interaction with each other and the course material. The Assignment tool permits online submission and grading of student work. Finally, you will learn to use Tests & Quizzes for various types of assessments. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet – Part 1. Registration is required.

CTLT’s Early-Career Faculty Circles offer faculty in their first, second, or third year of service at Illinois State University a combination of professional development and peer support. Join us for a series of lively conversations about surviving and thriving in the academy. Topics are based on chapters from Teaching What You Don’t Know by Therese Huston. Participants will receive a copy of the book and an executive summary of each chapter. Come to either the Wednesday or Thursday session. No registration necessary.

Microaggressions
Friday, October 28 • Noon to 1:15 p.m.
Microaggressions are small acts with potentially big effects—little behaviors that communicate hostile or derogatory slights towards a person or a group of people. These acts may be intentional or unintentional. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to identify microaggressions and explore the role they play on our campus. You’ll leave this seminar with a better understanding of the psychological impact these types of communications can have on others and how best to respond when a microaggression occurs. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch to this discussion. Registration is required.
