Illinois State University’s annual Music for the Holidays concerts will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, December 3, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 4, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for faculty/staff, and $10 for students and seniors.
The Music for the Holidays concerts will feature traditional carols and songs of the season performed by Illinois State’s Trombone Choir, Belle Voix, Women’s Choir, Men’s Glee, Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, and Symphony Orchestra. The concerts will include audience favorites Hanukkah Festival Overture, Sleigh Ride, Farandole, and Let the Caroling Start, a sing-along medley by jazz arranger Gary Fry. Other works will include a Haitian Noel and a selection from an Argentine Missa Criola, featuring guitars, a mandolin, and tenor soloists. Young musicians from Illinois State’s String Project will perform at the Saturday, December 3 matinee concert.
