On November 19, Illinois State Center for the Study of Education Policy Director Lynne Haeffele served on a panel led by Jason Leahy, executive director of the Illinois Principals Association (IPA).
The session presented the recently released “School Leader Paradigm” developed by IPA to round out the actual personal, social, and systems intelligences and competencies needed by today’s school leaders. The new framework, developed by IPA along with five other state principal associations, will be used to guide principal preparation and career-long professional development. It is also being considered as a basis for national principal certification by the two national principal organizations, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).
