Students seeking summer or fall employment are now able to apply for three University College student leader positions. Read more about the three opportunities below.
Academic peer advisor
Academic peer advisors (APA) are students who work with the University College Academic Advising office and are paired with professional advisors to manage the student advising caseload. APAs assist students with developing educational plans by providing professional advice and personal experience.
Academic peer advisor applications are due Friday, January 27. The final information session will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, in 406 DeGarmo Hall.
Preview guide
Preview guides are students who work with the Orientation and Transition Services office and are responsible for welcoming first-year students to campus during summer orientation.
Applications are due February 3. Information sessions are planned as follows:
- Recruitment Table: January 24, 2–4 PM, Student Fitness Center
- Information Session: January 25th, 5–6 p.m., Schroeder Hall 236
- Information Session: January 26th, 5–6 p.m., Schroeder Hall 236
- Information Session: January 27th, noon–1 p.m., Schroeder Hall 236
LinC and Success 101 peer instructor
Peer instructors are students who will work with two of the seminar courses sponsored by University College. Students can apply to become a LinC or Success 101 peer instructor for fall 2017.
Peer instructors will be paired with a LinC course instructor and will assist with classroom instruction and administrative responsibilities and aid in the transition of first-year students.
