In 2000 ABB Inc., a Swedish-Swiss corporation, operating mainly in robotics and the power and automation technology areas, hired Pillot as a field service robotics engineer. His duties included programming, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, robot repair, project management, and program and project support.
In 2006 he earned his MBA in industrial management from Baker College. The next year, he was promoted to Midwest field service manager and then technical support manager for the ABB robotics customer service division. In 2009 Pillot’s role was expanded to include the responsibility of developing and growing a technical support team located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In 2010 he became the director of field service and technical support. In this role, he manages a team of 84 employees, which consist of robotic engineers, project managers, service operation managers, and technical support specialists.
The Department of Technology appreciates Pillot’s and ABB’s continued support of the engineering technology program and its students.
