Grab a bike and go.
A new, public bike-sharing program, Bike Share 309, gives students, faculty, and staff discounted access to bikes throughout Bloomington-Normal with the touch of an app.
Bike Share 309 is a service that allows people to rent bikes by the hour. The on-campus bike stations are located at Cardinal Court, Schroeder Hall, Tri-Towers, and Watterson Towers. Five additional stations are located throughout the community at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Connie Link Amphitheatre, Hansen Student Center at Illinois Wesleyan University, Museum Square in downtown Bloomington, and Uptown Normal.
Those interested can take advantage of the service, which is sponsored by the Town of Normal, by downloading the Zagster Mobile App, free for iPhone and Android users, or join the program online.
Rides are $3 an hour, or riders can take advantage of an annual membership that includes one free hour per ride. University students, faculty, and staff receive discounted pricing on annual memberships.
