Music by contemporary composers will be featured during the 10th annual RED NOTE New Music Festival at Illinois State University, March 26-29. This year’s festival will feature guest composer Sydney Hodkinson and guest ensembles Del Sol String Quartet and loadbang.

The festival’s opening concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 26, will include performances by Illinois State’s Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Wind Symphony, and young performers from Illinois State’s String Project. The concert will feature music by festival guest composer Sydney Hodkinson, Jorge Andrés Ballastero, and Illinois State School of Music faculty member Carl Schimmel. The concert will take place in the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.
Tickets for that performance are $10 for adult general admission, $8 for faculty/staff, and $6 for students and seniors.
