The movie, New Muslim Cool, will be shown from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, in the Bone Student Center Prairie Room.
Race, religion and hip-hop music all intersect in this 60-minute documentary about a Puerto Rican-American rapper, Hamza Perez, who ends his life as a drug dealer and finds a new path as a young Muslim. During his spiritual journey, Hamza must confront the realities of the post 9/11 world and challenge himself. A brief discussion will be held after the film.
