Redbird student-athletes set semester GPA record
Illinois State student-athletes set a new semester departmental GPA record of 3.24 during the spring 2018 semester, topping the previous mark of 3.23 set during the previous four semesters. In addition, three teams tied or beat their previous team GPA records.

Illinois State will host the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship at Duffy Bass Field, as announced by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) office.
Redbird cross-country/track and field named MVC Program of the Year
The Illinois State track and field and cross-country team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference 2017-2018 Program of the Year based on their performance in cross-country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field.
Redbird football finds success over NFL Draft Weekend
Years of hard work and dedication on the football field paid off for Illinois State All-American defensive back Davontae Harris when he was selected in the fifth round (No. 151 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Another Redbird All-American, defensive lineman Dalton Keene, agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams.
Redbird women claim sixth MVC Outdoor Track and Field title
On the final day of the 2018 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Indiana State, the Illinois State women came away with their sixth Valley team title, totaling 191.5 points. The Redbird men came up just short of an MVC Championship, finishing as the runner-up with 169 points.

Over 70 Redbird student-athletes participate in spring commencement
A total of 73 Illinois State student-athletes graduate this spring (May or August) and were recognized at Illinois State’s spring commencement ceremonies, May 11-12. The 73 student-athletes represent 18 of ISU’s 19 athletics teams.
