A recent grant of $403,900 from the National Science Foundation has brought a state-of-the-art electron microscope to campus, now settled into its new home in Felmley Hall of Science Annex.

Doctoral student Sadia Sultana took the top prize at Illinois State University’s Three Minute Thesis competition February 23 at the Normal Theater.
This year, 11 contestants will compete and have the opportunity to share their research with all in attendance. Hear from each contestant and learn more about their research topic, their department support, and the faculty and staff impact that has been made.
There are a variety of scholarships at Illinois State, including scholarships geared toward major studies, financial assistance, or recognizing the overall excellence of a student. However, all scholarships have the commonality of supporting highly capable and stand-out students at Illinois State.

The annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 23, at the Normal Theater located in Uptown Normal. The event is free and open to the public.
