Alternative Breaks offers out-of-this-world experience in December 2022
This December, 10 students and one faculty/staff member will volunteer aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of an Alternative Winter Break trip. The team will be assisting Planet with basic satellite maintenance and repair while also working closely with NASA astronauts on several experiments analyzing the impact of microgravity on the growth of different lettuce hybrids.

Political engagement through the student lens
The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) recently interviewed Avery Spranger to learn about her thoughts on political engagement. Spranger is a senior at Illinois State University majoring in political science and minoring in philosophy. She is currently interning at Illinois State University’s Office of Governmental Relations with Director Dr. Jonathan Lackland. Spranger is working to make the office more accessible to students.
