Dr. Ollie Watts Davis, the Suzanne and William Allen Distinguished Professor in Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), will present “Yet With A Steady Beat: The Art, Aesthetics, and Activism of the Music of Black Americans” at 7 p.m. March 22. The voice of poets of the Harlem Renaissance will lift into song with Harlem Sings – A Tribute to the Poets of the Harlem Renaissance. The February 1 event will feature guest artists Patrice Eaton and Kyle Walker.
