Three Illinois State University professors have been named 2022 “Researchers to Know” by the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition (ISTC).
The Illinois State University Planetarium will offer its holiday show Season of Light, running weekends from December 2 through December 17.
The Illinois State University Planetarium will present the double feature Solar Quest and Losing the Dark, running weekends from November 4 – 12.

When Amelia Korveziroska was accepted for a research internship at Harvard, the junior physics engineering major knew she was going to conduct innovative, scientific research. She didn’t expect to also gain insight into her potential future, connect with new mentors, and discover confidence in herself as a researcher.
Dr. Cheri J. Simonds, professor of communication, will deliver the second College of Arts and Sciences Fall Lecture on Thursday, October 27 with the talk, “Designing General Education Curriculum with Assessment in Mind.”
Dr. Uttam Manna and Dr. Mahua Biswas received a nearly $290,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to continue research on experimental physics.
The College of Arts and Sciences will conduct a food drive to benefit the School Street Food Pantry, October 10–21. Collection boxes will be available in the College office and in all school/department offices.
Dr. Mahua Biswas, Illinois State University assistant professor of Physics, is fabricating nanoscale patterned materials as building blocks for futuristic technology.
Dr. Amy Wood will deliver the fall College of Arts and Sciences Lecture at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 in the Old Main Room in the Bone Student Center.
