The winner of the 2017 Clarence W. Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award is Lynda M. Kasky-Hernandez for her dissertation “Attachment and Disclosure to Mothers: Predictors of Adjustment During the College Transition.”

Illinois State faculty members and students from across campus attended the March for Science in Normal, which ended on the University’s Quad, and one that attracted more than 40,000 people to downtown Chicago.
Center for Child Welfare and Adoption Studies receives $250,000 to help youth in foster care reach college
With grants totaling $250,000 from DCFS and a private donor, Illinois State’s Center for Child Welfare and Adoption Studies is establishing a First Star Academy at the University, which will help prepare high school-aged youth in foster care for college.
